I've been a licensed Realtor for 27 years in Arizona and am a Maricopa County Superior Court Special Real Estate Commissioner. I myself for the past 43 years invested in real estate in Scottsdale Az as well as Phoenix Az. I have an eye for properties that will hold their value. Often clients will want to make an offer on a house, feeling like they have to do something. Yet, I'm always thinking about the resale value. I always ask if I would put my money in this property. I also think if these clients buy this house, and call me in five years and want to sell it, will I want to take that call? If the answer is 'not so much,' then I advise them to wait and we will find a home that will meet their needs, and one that will hold its value. Also, people moving to Arizona from a different market, where homes are plentiful, usually have to adjust to Arizona’s rapidly moving market. When this is the case, I educate my clients on the market in the Metropolitan area,and then explain we might need to expand the area of their interest, look further out or reconsider their price point. Clients who need to consider expanding their area of interest are in luck when working with me, as I know Scottsdale and the surrounding areas of Paradise Valley, Phx, Chandler, Gilbert, Peoria etc exceptionally well, having been born and raised here & lived here for well over 6 decades. My main focus area for years, was just Scottsdale, which is where I have lived for over 5 decades. Then, in 2004, I expanded my area to 144 sq miles of the entire Valley of the Sun, from Carefree to the Southeast area, Chandler, Gilbert, and all areas in between. This was much more interesting. There are some fabulous master-planned communities in these areas that have parks, playgrounds, running and hiking trails, and are close to shopping areas. I work with all price points, including first-time home buyers. I've won award level recognition thru various Brokerages in 27 years such as awards with and thru Russ Lyon Realty & Re/Max Fine Properties and My Home Group Realty.
