Although raised in Southern California, I was born in Medellin, Colombia, so I speak Spanish, which often surprises people. Speaking another language is invaluable as I can supporting my clients when they need an advisor that speaks Spanish or when they need assistance from someone that does. I have two amazing daughters and two Westies with whom I love to spend my free time - along with my wonderful husband as well, of course! We love to travel, hike, snow ski, and do just about everything as long as we have time to spend together. I also have three stepchildren who are now grown and living independently who are successful in their own right. When I first moved to Phoenix from Encino, CA, over 20 years ago, I wasn't a huge fan. It was hotter, dryer, and browner than I was used to, so it came as quite a shock! Then, after my first summer, monsoon season, and fall, the cooler weather arrived, and everything seemed to drop into place, personally and professionally. I have grown to love Arizona and can't imagine living anywhere else. I started working for a prominent privately-owned developer and builder, Woodside Homes, as a new home sales agent. At that time, I went by Marcela Chapa; however, I have since been married and changed my name to Marcela Moat. My first job in real estate at Woodside got me hooked on real estate. After the new homes market started to slow, I left to start my own business working in residential sales, and I have never looked back. For me, it is pretty simple. I love working with people and enjoy the challenge of finding them their dream home or selling their house as quickly and profitably as possible. My clients are either a friend at the start of our relationship or a friend at the end. After almost 20 years, I have clients I worked with at Woodside coming back to me to assist them with their real estate needs. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have made such a lasting impression. After marrying, I felt it was time to rebrand my business using my first and middle name to Marcela Grace, with a new logo and website. The transition was difficult at first as people didn't instantly make the connection. Still, soon The Marcela Grace Group became as familiar as my old name. In my first year, I won several top awards from my broker, West USA, selling several million dollars in properties. I am incredibly proud of this as I handle every single transaction personally. By working with a close and trusted team of lenders, designers, inspectors, title companies, and photographers, I can keep my clients well informed and several steps ahead of everyone else. The Marcela Grace Group has grown into a thriving business for our family through dedication, passion, attention to detail, and excellent service.
