In the fall of 2004 I obtained my real estate license right before the craziness of the 2005-2006 real estate market. Then finding a buyer was easy, but finding a property was, well, a bit on the impossible side. Multiple offers on the first day of listing were not uncommon. Then came the crash of 2008 bringing in a new era called "REO". At the time, if you weren’t selling foreclosures for a bank, you were finding it hard to stay afloat. As a result, I partnered with a colleague of mine and started a property management company. This provided a living and a means to stay alive as a real estate agent. After the market improved, I stepped away from the management company and started selling again. Since 2004, I learned so much about market changes, negotiating and do’s and don’ts of selling property. I must say, it has been challenging, but fun and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Today my goal is simple: I want to be your Realtor. I just want to be the Realtor you call and want to tell your friends and family about. I achieve this by a simple philosophy: I treat you and your referrals like my family. This isn’t about me, this is about you. When I work with someone, they are my employer; my fiduciary. I have a simple slogan “Marketing your place, not my Face”. So, if you don’t feel I worked the hardest for you at close of escrow, I didn’t do my job. If you don’t want to refer me to everyone you know, I didn’t do my job, and if I didn’t do my job, I didn’t accomplish my goal. Enough about that, so who am I. I am a father of four boys and an amazing wife. I grew up in West Michigan on a 60-acre farm where I learned the meaning of hard work and an honest living. In November of 1998, I was twenty-seven years old and didn’t want to go through another winter. So, I packed my car as full as possible and drove down here without ever being here. I only knew that Phoenix was the place for me, and I couldn’t have been more right. After getting established here, I became a loan processor for a mortgage company and worked very closely with loan officers, lenders and title companies. As a result, I already had a comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage business, escrow company’s role and dealing with real estate agents. I also enjoy volunteering when I have free time. I love volunteering for my boy’s school with the PTSA, serve as their school’s United Parent Council rep and am the parent gardening volunteer teaching 1st through 4th grade about gardening. In addition, my boys also play baseball I am their assistant coach. My son Sebastian, who is only nine, is taking after Dad and wants to volunteer with our large numbers of homeless.
