I remember the vineyards and orange groves, and the old Pacific Electric line that still hauled loaded railcars between San Bernardino and Upland. As a five-year-old, I'd listen to the trains cross the bridge at Vineyard Avenue, just a few hundred feet from my front yard. I played T-ball and Little League at Red Hill, Heritage, and Beryl Parks, and rode my bike down Highland Avenue to Etiwanda High before the 210 Freeway was built. I was there the day the first section opened. Today I'm raising my seven children in the house I grew up in. I've watched this community grow into what it is today, and there's truly something for everyone.
