Jim Bunch Sotheby’s International Realty For more than three decades, James “Jim” Bunch has built his real estate career around an intimate knowledge of Los Angeles, a passion for distinctive homes, and an eye for recognizing value and opportunity. A longtime Realtor, former brokerage owner who managed a team of 12 agents, and former real estate educator, Jim brings an unusually broad perspective to every transaction. During his years as an instructor with LAUSD, he taught Real Estate Principles as well as Marketing and Management, experience that strengthened his ability to explain complex decisions clearly and guide clients with confidence. A skilled and strategic negotiator, Jim has successfully advocated for both buyers and sellers throughout his career. Most recently, he secured homes for two separate buyers competing in multiple-offer situations—one against seven offers and another against nine. In the latter, his buyer’s offer was accepted at just under the asking price, demonstrating that a winning offer is not always simply the highest offer, but one that is strategically structured and effectively negotiated. Jim’s expertise extends well beyond buying and selling. He has renovated homes throughout Greater Los Angeles, most recently completing an extensive renovation of his own residence in Glendale’s historic Cumberland Heights neighborhood. He also completed the rigorous 180-hour Renovator Club Elite program, further developing his expertise in property analysis, renovation strategy, and identifying opportunities within the MLS. With a strong understanding of zoning, neighborhood value trajectories, upcoming development, and how thoughtful improvements can enhance a property, Jim helps clients see not only what a home is today, but what it can become. He combines that perspective with decades of market experience to bring insight, strategy, integrity, and seasoned judgment to every transaction.
