About Melanie

Melanie Wilson, Real Estate Professional in Napa, California, United States Melanie was born in Houston, Texas, and raised for most of her life in Kansas. She credits her parents’ Midwest values for inspiring her work ethic. She was introduced to the Napa Valley as a little girl when her family vacationed in Wine Country every summer. “I guess that’s when I fell in love with the valley,” she says. In 1994, after graduating from Kansas State University in hospitality management, Melanie moved to the Napa Valley and began working in the hospitality and wine industry. In 1997, as general manager of her family’s estate winery, Oakford Vineyards, she had the pleasure of working with winemaker Heidi Barrett for seven years producing Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon, a 98+ point wine. In 2014, she continued her passion for producing ultra-premium, high-quality wine, and launched the MW Family Wine Company, which today produces and sells 1,000 cases annually of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. After three decades working in the wine industry, Melanie’s roots are deeply planted in the knowledge and understanding of the Napa Valley and its culture, community, real estate, and wine. She also continues to develop and maintain strong connections in the state of Texas where she has expanded her wine business. Ms. Wilson’s success in the wine industry is grounded in her personal attention, communication skills, and integrity. Her background in hospitality and winery management enables her to see the big picture when matching clients with their ideal properties. Melanie has two sons in college at Concordia University and two younger sons, ages 9 and 15. In her free time, Melanie enjoys taking vacation trips with her family and friends and is a committed fitness buff! She feels very fortunate to have been able to raise her children, work for her family’s estate winery, start her own wine company, and become a Real Estate career professional in the exceptional Napa Valley community. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of this area and vast wine experience with her clients, to bring a strategic yet personal approach to the entire buying and selling process.
