About Riley

Yes, Bacon is my real last name. No, my business cards don't actually smell like it. I stopped correcting people years ago, because they keep telling their friends about me. I grew up in Poway, spending summers at my family's La Jolla beach house — the one my mom grew up in back in the '70s. I learned to surf off Scripps pier and honed my craft at Sunset Cliffs, where my uncle has lived just as long. San Diego and these beaches aren't a market I moved to. They're home. I built my business in Maine and New Hampshire starting in 2020, working as both an owner-occupied landlord and a real estate agent. Through Keller Williams training I developed what I call the Chunking Method — a fancy name for a simple idea. Buying a home feels impossible when you look at the whole thing at once, so we don't. We break it into slices and take them one at a time. Down payment. Credit. What actually builds equity while you live there. Handled separately, each piece is manageable. Stacked together, they're the reason people give up before they start. I didn't learn this from a textbook. I got my license from scratch during COVID, in a brand new state, with zero connections, and figured it out the hard way. I've bought a multi-unit property, renovated homes, and sold them — with my own money, my own weekends, and plenty of weekdays. That remodel wasn't a solo act. My girlfriend has been a contractor for thirty years and runs Jen of All Trades. She also hand-built a log cabin on her fifty acres in New Hampshire, which keeps my weekend projects in perspective. So when I tell you a place has room to grow into something better, I've had a very good teacher. Before real estate I sold radio advertising, earned a degree in TV and radio production, performed stand-up comedy, and put together fundraisers benefiting organizations that help children with terminal illnesses. Clients tell me I'm the least boring part of the transaction. Jokes will absolutely be cracked along the way. But California is my third licensed state, and thorough is how I actually work — the humor is the delivery, not the standard. My catchphrase sums it up: Everything's Better with Bacon. Also, I send out one genuinely good bacon recipe a month. No sales pitch attached. It's the least I can do given the last name. Let's find out what's actually possible.
