About Skip Lane,
Skip Lane has been a resident of the upper Napa Valley for the past 40 years and a Real Estate Broker for the last 28 of those years. Skip has a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College and attended law school at U.C. Berkeley. After working for a Wall Street law firm he moved to St. Helena in 1972. He worked briefly at Robert Mondavi Winery and began a cooperage (wine barrels) business in 1973. He sold the business and got his Broker’s license in 1984. During his real estate career, he has represented buyers and sellers of all kinds of property—residential, commercial, vacant land and estates. With his legal background, he takes a particular interest in negotiating contracts for his clients and enjoys solving the problems that arise in most real estate transactions. In the last few years he has personally handled a number of short sale and foreclosure deals. Skip has always taken an active part in community affairs. When his kids were growing up, he coached soccer and basketball teams and served on various school committees. Later on he served as President of the St. Helena School Board and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce. His favorite local organization is the St. Helena Historical Society, where he is currently server as President. Gardening and reading are favorite hobbies, and he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. Skip has always prided himself on providing a high level of personal service to his clients, often continuing to provide help long after a transaction has closed. His knowledge of local zoning codes and his contacts in local government provide him with an ability to answer questions. You can reach Skip at his email, slane@tncnv.com or at his office phone number, (707) 967-6210.
