About Joy Lynn

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, Joy Lynn Lawson has deep roots in the Sumter community and surrounding areas. She graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in Columbia, South Carolina, then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Francis Marion University and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University. Joy’s introduction to business began at just eight years old through her parents, Margaret Lawson, owner of New Beginning Catering Service, and Reverend Willie Lawson. They taught her that exceptional service means more than meeting a client’s needs - it means creating an experience they will remember. Joy carried that lesson throughout more than 20 years in the family business. When the effects of COVID-19 led the family to close the catering operation in December 2020, Joy continued serving past and new clients through event coordination. Throughout the years, Joy remained fascinated by real estate and the opportunity to help people find a place of peace. She ultimately decided the time had come to pursue that passion. Energetic, warm, and true to her namesake, Joy combines an intimate knowledge of South Carolina with a heart for service and the determination of a finisher. Whether helping buyers find the home of their dreams or helping sellers achieve top dollar, she will not rest until the goal is reached.
