PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND After living in Portland, OR for just over 20 years my small family of two & our dogs and birds made the big move to Houston, TX in the fall of 2009. I began working on obtaining my real estate license here in Texas and began working for a midsize premier builder. I graduated from University of Phoenix in October 2017 and achieved my Bachelors in Business Management to compliment my real estate background. In Portland, I specialized in new home sales, primarily residential and specializing in Townhome and Condominium master planned communities. After successfully selling and closing over 128 million dollars in sales in the Portland market it made for a natural progression to get my feet wet in the Houston market in a similar field, and expand from there. I have currently earned my broker's license, now I am licensed in two states and have opened my own small boutique brokerage, Valerie Mooney Real Estate. I still specialize in townhome, new home and residential sales both buyer or seller representation. I also have numerous years background in residential property management. I have earned several designations over the years including the National Association of Realtors, GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), CSP (Certified New Home Specialist, and the ARM (Accredited Residential Manager) from the Institute of Real Estate Management. ON A PERSONAL NOTE: Some personal interests are that my husband (Bud whom I have been happily married to for 32 years) and I are avid parrot lovers' and have adopted, purchased, loved and cared for as many as 33 birds in our home at one time. We are also canine fans, love dogs and outdoor cats as well. We are avid motorcyclists and love that riding season is year round. (most years)
